Easter Candy

Wow... I forgot just how good jelly beans are! but OMG how much sugar in just one little jelly bean... Oh well... tomorrow is another day and I will forgive myself for indulging in salty ham, kugel, lemon roll with homemade ice cream, appetizers, and peach blisses. I can see a week of meager meals with lots of healthy vegetables and exercise, exercise, exercise. Good luck to everybody this week because Saturday is weigh in day!

weather… yuck!

I am loving walking outside on the bike trails but the weather is not cooperating with me... I never realized just how many trails there are around the Chardon area... they are great and an easy walk for me at this just getting back into exercise time in my life!

Another Week

Another week has gone by and it amazes me that I am still going strong.  Exercise seems to be the trick.  I exercise at Lean Living twice a week for an hour each session and then I walk outside 3 or 4 times a week for at least an hour.  I did have some corned beef and cabbage for St. Patricks Day so I didn't get on the scales this morning, I am thinking that all that salt couldn't be good for weight loss - just have to get right back to eating healthier!

And then the weekend!

I am able to control my eating habits all week long... Lots of veggies, fruits, some protein - keeping fats to a minimum and staying away from sugars and desserts. Friday evening comes along and a group of us go out to Lenten fish fries.. the AYCE type where they keep bringing you more and more and more... I do pick off the batter but I don't think that is really helping, and then I like to have a beer with my fish and then all my resolve is down the drain. I am glad that Lent is almost over and fish fries will be a thing of the past! By the way Kirkland City Tavern has an awesome fish fry!

anyways

This was a great week for me... I am happy with my weight loss... I am exercising with the best instructor from Lean and Living.... (drum rolls) Jessica. She is awesome.... and I am trying to think of how I will maintain my weight loss... I know that I have to be practical... how much time can I devote to exercise, what can I eat when I go out to dinner, am I just going to eat salads for the rest of my life... NO! I have to put this all into perspective and come up with something that I think I can live with... So no fad diets , no 40 hours at the gym... this is not sustainable for me... moderate weight loss, moderate exercise - I think this will work for for me...

awareness

when I decided to enter into this contest I really didn't really care aboutI winning, I just knew that for myself, I wasn't happy with the way I felt, or the the way I looked. Twelve years ago I was teaching spinning and yoga... How can bad habits be so hard to give up but good habits be so easy.
